This residential development is dedicated to the overarching theme of intergenerational housing: 3 generations of architects created intelligent solutions to meet the needs of different life phases. The passive house “Wohnregal” by ARTEC acts as an acoustic barrier for the tranquil, village-type residential zone behind it. The uniform use of timber façades conveys a sense of cohesiveness despite the different architectural languages employed.

The objective of this project lay in providing a design for flexible use without assigning any portion to a specific generation. The three diverse approaches are based on a neutral collective structure that allows for ample layout variations that also include self-finishing. The three projects are conceptually linked by employing the same surface choices (timber framing) and small-scale urban design.
