open house wien Green living, city living: the housing project Orasteig combines urbanity and a distinct country feel. For the landscape design, the developers strived to strike a balance between meeting and reclusive areas. Along the house entries, differently decorated areas serve as social meeting points. The street is a pedestrian area and the traffic has been minimised as a result. This allows children to play outside the front door. The apartments are very different, not only in size. Next to two-storey townhouses, there are duplex apartments that can be combined. Many apartments have terraces and private gardens as their own summer living space. A special emphasis was put on variability and the topics “generational living” as well as “working & living”.
