Indeed: The technology centre aspern IQ is not only self-sustaining, it even produces more energy than it needs, making it a plus-energy passive house. The governmentally subsidised building houses offices and laboratories; its target group is made up of emerging companies from the areas sustainable technology development and environmental technology. The building, made of sustainable concrete, also houses a charging station for electric vehicles and an e-bike station. Even the sun protection is innovative: A sensor on the roof measures the sun’s position and intensity and regulates the exterior sun protection automatically. The offices have lamps with integrated standby- and daylight sensors, thus providing optimal lighting conditions.
