gebaut A charming Hungarian restaurant in Vienna’s Servitenviertel neighbourhood closed its doors when its owners retired but soon reopened, somewhat enlarged and redesigned, as “Die Serviette”. The place’s attractively homey feel has been preserved even after its architectural metamorphosis. This may be due to the small number of tables (just five), the effective lighting concept and the fact that the furniture disdains out-and-out designer ambitions except for the chairs by Konstantin Grcic (which are very comfortable anyway). The oak-panelled walls also contribute to the cosy atmosphere of “Die Serviette”.
